According to media reports, a new configuration of the M1 MacBook Air with 128GB of storage and a price of $799 appeared on Apple’s US educational institution hardware and software price list.

The M1 MacBook Air currently on sale has only 256GB, 512GB, 1TB or 2TB storage space. Apple Store does not currently provide 128GB storage configuration.

However, foreign netizens noticed that Apple listed the new configuration of the 13-inch MacBook Air on the above page: Apple M1 version with 8-core CPU and 7-core GPU, 8GB RAM, 128GB storage, and the price is lower than the 256GB storage version For US$799. Apple also supports customers to purchase this MacBook Air configuration in bulk.

Although the 128GB M1 MacBook Air has not yet appeared in Apple’s US Education Store, another Reddit user shared a screenshot of the educational institution’s page, which shows the new configuration.

It is not clear whether this MacBook Air will be sold to ordinary users. Maybe Apple will only keep this configuration for education customers. As we all know, Apple will keep some Mac models for education, such as Intel Core i3 iMac.
